So- that flame is what normally appears after firing a gun?
Sure is, just much more visible at night. firing in darkness you can actually temporarily blind yourself because the bright muzzle flash. So better make sure your first shot is a great shot.

Some good pics from shooting tonight. These are of my SP101 snub nose .357 revolver. Lots of flame that you don't even realize during the day.
